Partners
macustar is a unique public-private partnership project supported by the Innovative Medicines Initiative and combines Europe’s most relevant clinical and scientific expertise. The macustar consortium consists of 13 partners including leading academics centers, research-focussed eye hospitals, research organizations and major medical-technology and pharmaceutical companies.
The consortium includes a total of 20 designated clinical sites across seven European countries. The macustar clinical study will be coordinated by the ophthalmological clinical research organization AIBILI in Portugal, Coordinating Centre of the EVICR.net – the European Vision Institute Clinical Research Network, in close cooperation with the European Clinical Research Infrastructure Network (ECRIN). Additional scientific expertise will be provided by a scientific advisory board and the patient umbrella organization Retina International, representing 33 patient-led voluntary groups, charities and foundations.
